Title: Question for Deano
Post by: Sarge on March 12, 2008, 16:39:38 pm
Was studying your Heater Delete column in the April Hot VW's this morning and noticed your tach needle sitting at 2400 rpm in one of the photos...what's up with that?  Your car looks like it's coming along nicely.  How about a little progress report?

VDO tachs rest at 2400 when they are not hooked up. Mine does that too.

edit: oops meant autometer not vdo.

What he said.... Auto Meter apparently does the same (lame) stopping point. But since the engine is still miles away from the body, how would I know?

I seem to remember my Autometer stopping at whatever rpm I tuned the engine off at. Might be wrong though, I often am! :D

My Autometer's the same, too...since Deano hadn't fired his car with the new tach, I wondered how it read 2400 already.  No more stupid questions ::) ;D

mine too. I was wondering from the pics why does it seem that in both the before and after pics of the dash vents it seems you can't see the left front quarter panel?

Believe me, it's there, or at least it was before Buddy got the car...
