Post by: Jim Ratto on March 13, 2008, 20:00:19 pm
Hi guys,

on your IDA motors, 1700...1835... would you guys share what vents and jets you ran back then?
Much appreciated.

On the 1835...37mm vents, f7 emulsion tubes, 145 main, 140 air, 120/65 idle stack.  On the 1700...37mm vents, f7 emulsion tubes, 135 main, 130 airs, 120/65 idle stack.

Since Sarge did the jetting on my 1835cc and 1700cc eighty years ago...., ditto above, except I ran a 140 main on the 1700cc as well.

Why the F7 and not some other e-tube? Did you ever try any others?

The carbs came with f7, 37mm, 130 main, 120 air, 120/70 idle out of the box.  Back then, not many folks knew much about changing jets around.  Those 70 idles were extra "smogy"...if you sat at a light too long, things would start to load up quick.
