Title: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Rick Meredith on March 14, 2008, 03:04:22 am So the season starts this weekend in Australia!
Can't wait! How about you guys? Ya think it's gonna be Hamilton's Year? How will Alonso rebound or Raikonen defend?? Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Zach Gomulka on March 14, 2008, 03:16:24 am Robert Kubica is my boy! ;D
Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Rick Meredith on March 14, 2008, 05:50:37 am That crash he had in what was it Canada? was spectacular.
Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: alex d on March 14, 2008, 12:17:18 pm I don't think this year alonso will battle for victory many times...and we'll see what Hamilton does with another team mate, my bet is on Raikkonen
Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Zach Gomulka on March 14, 2008, 17:08:25 pm It was a wicked crash. Glad he came out all right! :)
Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Rick Meredith on March 14, 2008, 17:16:19 pm I'm thinking that Kimi may repeat too. I think that Lewis may suffer from the Sophomore jinx plus now all the McLaren pressure will be on him. Alonso has the skill and drive but I don't know that his equipment is up to the task.
Should be an interesting season. Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: dirk zeyen on March 15, 2008, 00:20:34 am without traction control this will be very interresting, we will see more cars beside the track....
go kimi go!!! dirk zeyen Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: ApeLatex on March 15, 2008, 03:13:18 am Honestly- I'd rather watch on TV than in person.
I've been to several F1 races and they are quite boring....about every few minutes it gets loud and then it goes away. It's more fun with me to watch it with a crowd of people getting rowdy. I didn't really follow it last year but I watched a bunch of races. To be REALLY honest, while I love racing and cars, I really just like to sit with a bowl of food and watch cars whiz around. Hurray for F1 and jalapeno poppers! Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: empicolector on March 15, 2008, 07:59:47 am forza KIMI
Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: empicolector on March 15, 2008, 08:06:28 am AUSTRALIA STARTING LINE

Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: ApeLatex on March 15, 2008, 20:13:01 pm IF anybody is in the Bay Area tonight there is going to be a Who cover band playing at some bar before the F1 race airs.
Here is a flyer. I'll be the chick with the shirley temples playing pin ball. Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: mg on March 15, 2008, 20:21:49 pm Robert Kubica is my boy! ;D Kimi #1 then agree RK. Not looking forward to any sort of a Lewis runaway season. Fun lap to watch RK in 2nd. That guys got guts. Kimi got the anvil no doubt. :-[ Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: empicolector on March 16, 2008, 07:44:07 am BOURDAIS IS A KILLER :o HE MUST CHANGE TEAM

Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: mg on March 16, 2008, 18:28:54 pm It was a heck of a race wasn't it? chaotic clearly not representative of the potential of the teams, cars and drivers. I did enjoy watching the drivers deal with the new Standard ECU. Not jumpin on the LH bandwagon. Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Rick Meredith on March 16, 2008, 18:33:02 pm I think everyone is struggling with the new ECU rules. Kubica drove a good race until he broke. I don't think Lewis was as stellar as he has been but then again, he didn't need to be as there was no one challenging him.

Vettel 2 Bourdais 0 A no-contest after Bourdais drove off the race track after failing to navigate a total of six corners. fun read... http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3265_3350549,00.html (http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3265_3350549,00.html) Massa was a big disapointment, he should of took a point from LH.. Can't wait!
We've been to Silverstone a few times over the years.... it really is an awesome experience if you get the chance, but I kinda understand what 'McLovin' says about watching it on TV, I think Baseball is more interesting on TV than going to the game- although the one game I went to I did enjoy- I reckon it's down to all the extra information you get. Saying that, I've heard the 'Kangaroo' coverage available at most of the GPs is supposed to be good. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--1tvFyRNXc .... just a short film from '05 with the lads. Mosley was alleged to have taken part in a Nazi-style orgy with five prostitutes. The News of the World published video stills of a man that it claimed was Mosley, alleging that he was pretending to be a Nazi concentration camp commandant punishing girls dressed as camp inmates. http://www.planet-f1.com/story/0,18954,3262_3371340,00.html Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Rick Meredith on April 02, 2008, 00:42:39 am Isn't News of the World the British equivalent of The National Enquirer?

'Heikki hit the wall at 26Gs' It was a relief not to watch Lewis make a mess of it, again. Indy racer SB seems to be in a habit of trying to make everyone else look good. It would be more interesting to see cruising Kimi Raikkonen having to push it in more than just qualifing. more info here. http://www.planet-f1.com/news/0,18953,3438,00.html (http://www.planet-f1.com/news/0,18953,3438,00.html) Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: alex d on April 28, 2008, 15:06:05 pm "Lovers of wheel to wheel action wouldn't have been watching anyway as Barcelona usually battles it out with Budapest and Magny Cours for dullest procession imaginable". ;D yep, the Barcelona circuit is boring to watch races, in fact it's even boring to drive (unless you have something like 300hp I guess)Title: Re: 2008 - F1 Talk Post by: Zach Gomulka on May 26, 2008, 16:22:44 pm So who made it out to Monaco last weekend?
