The Cal-look Lounge

Looks like I will get off my butt and make it to Bug-In 33.  My wife has been encouraging me to to and my buddy Ridk Mortenesen has decided to accompany us to the Bug-In.  So who all is going to make it? I know a bunch of folks from the U.S. will be there, but I am more interested in those outside of the U.S.  I would enjoy putting faces to names and meet some of you from across the pond.  Who is going to make it?  Thanks in advance and maybe we can plan a lounge get together!

I'm coming all the way from Lake Forest, CA... it's almost a 30 min drive to Bug-In from here. Waiting for the Classic as it's about 4 miles for me.

I'm betting it will be sunny and warm.  At least that is what I am counting on.  The temps in Arizona have been in the 80s with no clouds in the sky.  It is suppose to be in the 70s next week from what I can tell, perhaps even warmer.

I'm proud to say that I'll be at Bug In 33 with my pops once again.  He'll be scouring the swap meet for 40 horse parts for his Formula Vee car (VW families stick together lol) while I"ll be overloading myself on Volkswagendom all the livelong day.

I wish I'd known sooner about the Nick's Cruise and Irwindale on Thursday, otherwise I would have planned ahead, but I'm looking forward greatly to scoping out the parking lot rides and the mixer on Saturday night before the big event.  I think this time I'll bring my Cal Look book and seek out some autographs...;-)

On a sidenote, I feel like I've been under a rock as I just discovered this site in the last month or less thanks to Zach Gomulka.  I got in the habit of checking out two or three web sites on a regular basis and never heard about this one until recently.  Good stuff! ;D

Well, things are starting to heat up...drove the '67 to FAT Performance this morning for a LIVE Channel 5 news-cast.  I got to say, driving in the Fast Trac (pay lanes) at 80 mph at 4:30 in the morning is REALLLY an eye-opener :o :o :o.  Got to FAT and there was ALREADY a load of cars and people milling around in a dark parking lot waiting for the sun to come up.  Left my car with Ron and Sharon & I continued on to work in the Passat.  Turned the TV on as soon as I got in the door and caught race cars doing burn-outs in the FAT parking lot...HOT SHIT!!! 8) 8) 8) ;D ;D ;D

Saw that! Gail Anderson of KTLA has her hands full with Ron Fleming... she can never get a word in! Ron ran 5-6 racecars through the water box in about 10 seconds!

Dean, funny thing is Gail just wanted the guys to cruise by slow and get them in the shot. Some one lit the tires off a little soooooo naturally the next guy had to one up them. Mason started doing a little drifting in the Hunsacker car!!! Run! And of course, Dyno Don at 5 in the morning is always a treat! Casey
