Title: Kudo's to Glenn Ring!!
Post by: DKK Ted on March 25, 2008, 05:42:58 am
I received my 010 from Glenn today, First, his service was extremly good. His work is just as good. This 010 I got from him is like better than new, Just Bitchen! Don't know how else to put it. I for sure recommend him if ya want a totally refurbished distributor. Well worth the money.  ;D ;D

A little over a week, what happen, I let him know that I would like to have one, at that time he had no cores, but shortly after I recieved an e-mail that he has one. From there to finish, he sent me pics of the finish product, saw it and was sold. It was up to me to get the mula to him which I did. He quickly sent to me. Basicly over the weekend. I thought that was very cool. He does some very nice work. Was very very impressed. So nice, I don't want to use it....but I will.  ;D

I had the same experience with him. Emailed him saying I was looking for one but he was out. Later he emailed me saying he found one and would send me pics when it was done to make sure I still wanted it. Took a couple weeks, got the pics and bought it. Been running it on my 1500 while I build the 2 liter where it will finally go. BTW, I upgraded to the Pertronix kit for the 010 and have been very happy with it.

Glen's a good guy and a friend. He's also got a real sweet '74 that he's owned since new.

Cool, I have my own core so I'd need to ship it out to him.

Very cool to hear about this. Makes me wish that I had kept my .010 and .019 ones. D'OH! Those are my favorite models.

I had him do a 010 for me a few years ago, it turned out great! I rebuilt the one one my GTV myself, it's really not that much work, just gotta keep track of where all those little parts go ;) Here is the before, and after of the one I did. I chose not to repaint it, I wanted that vintage patina :) It also sports an NOS brown cap now as well.

I rebuilt mine back in the day but that's when I had easy access to parts. I'm more concerned with that now plus I'm not used to doing that stuff like I used to. Rather let an "expert" handle it.  ;)

If you can rebuild a stock Solex, rebuilding a 010 is a walk in the park ;)
