today is really a bad day, after my problem of broken spring  valves, today I go to PAT to recover the 61,  here me on the way even 1 km further, i engage me in a turn around  and here that the c4 share of the rear wheel-axle unit and the bug is put out of scissors and come to strike the back of the c4 , I look at the damages at first sight thefront wing and headlight to break anything other, then I take again the road, and not feeling me has ease I stop again to check the tow bar,et I call PAT to explain the thing to him, it says to me that it arrives with another tow bar, while waiting for I inspect the damage and return account to me that while trying to open the cap it is a little hard and I notice that my skirt is slightly folded and then I realize that the cap is not aligned any more with the cheek of wing before left the cheek returns from 1 cm, PAT arrives and it is noticed that the tow bar is slightly folded, not returning from there it before and that it surprised to see that the puma had folded at the time of the impact . I don't return from there, and one decides to see with Laurent the boss from old dreams car to see whether one can bring the car of continuation, thing made now thus me set out again here for a work of carrosery, front wing, rectification of the side to him before left and rectify the skirt, plus a new nose gear this car will have cost me more money than of pleasure than I would have some to roll with so much I would have the balls to make an accident or another thing   ,  I surely will put parts on sale
just one positive point on the new wings i don't put a new horn grill but in place  i will add lucas turn signal on each wings

That is very sad Fabs. It looks bad now but there is nothing there that can not be fixed.

I bent a beam once too....  no fun!!!! Damn rain and horsepower don't mix.

sorry to see your pride and joy wrecked.but in the picture's it does not look bad,I think most of the damaged part's will unbolt. keep your chin up,I have fixed car's three time's as bad without a trace. It's a saver

Oh no Fabian!!! I wish this wasn't true... it's just so meaningless, but on the good side, this isn't much of a accident.
It can easily be fixed, your paint job is still so fresh that you will be able to paint just the quarter and the wing.
Sure it stinks big time... but look at the bright side, lucas lights! 8)

Still after these posts that i read, i´m happy that you are o.k ! And the car doesn´t look that bad, looks like it´s easily fixed. You´ll be driving again in no time !!!  ;)

Damn Fabs, that sucks big time! Glad you´re okay! I´ve had a similar damage at my daily driver bug 3 weeks ago so I can imagine how you feel. As JHU said before, the "good" thing is that your paint still is quite fresh so it won´t be too difficult to mix that exact color. When looking at Roland´s car I´m sure that you guys will have your '61 repaired pretty fast. If you need any parts please let me know...maybe I can help.

I had a similar accident on the way to a show in the summer of 2005 when a 90 year old nun (no joke!) pulled out right in front of me! Ruined the Enkei, front wing and creased the front quarter.

Fab, if I can give you a pieces of advices, don't use a repro fender... They are not the same as a good original one.

With a repro, I fear that you  will have clearancing issue? 2 friends have problems with repro fenders because they are a little less wide than originals.

There are tons of small differences between repro SLOPING headlights front fenders and the original German FITTED ones (there is a difference between NOS and FITTED too).
But this is the BIG one that most haven't seen.

First a original German fitted fender:

Watch those curves, they make a big difference to a finished car...
I haven't looked much into non-sloping fenders, but I bet there are similar issues there to

The Black Fender is Pre 60's it is also more squared off at the running board the Green one is used 61 to 66

Nope, its the original one of my never restored 64.... both the left and the right is the same. And the green is a repro, you can tell on the lip that bolts up to the car. It also has thiner steel.

tomorrow I will move the old front beam and to give the new one with the  sway a way kit, I learned that the  front decklid had been touched  from where it will receive a new painting, one will drill in the fendersd for the lucas and the front panel is already to rectify veiled ,  photographs tomorrow at the end of the evening

When we loaded for EBI1, Arnies 67 was put on the bottom of the transporter for safety reasons, we were so careful but we still dented the roof when we lowered the deck above on to it ! So we are at EBI and Arnie walks up and says oh f%$£ what happened, we say we did it and he says will fix it and dont do it again, how true........

here's the news from the body work
old front beam removed and the new one is on , we cut the new one (who's the original 61 front beam  ::) ), an we welded the sway a way kit , after we had fixed the frt beam on the nose floorpan , and after we made the sites to put the lucas, if all is well I recover the 61 next Friday for my birthday
 ;)
