Title: very good article by D. Conklin in Ultra VW
Post by: Jim Ratto on April 07, 2008, 19:54:58 pm
Dave, outstanding article on trends vs. style.

I really enjoyed the part about the narrowed beam cars.... those that have resorted to the 3-wheeler look...and how you mentioned what the narrow beam was originally designed for and curiously, these narrowed beams (sans shocks) now have the EXACT SAME problem, only inside the fenders.

Hermaphodite bit was great too....

keep up the good work,
Jim

nice thing about that article..... it clarified the blurred lines that often exist when one sees a "Cal Look Car"... is it one or not? Not that I think there are rules that a Cal Look car has to live up to, but there are some definite approaches to make a "Cal Look Car" that don't work. Dave you put them in clear, concise terms.

Cool, Jim... are you referring to the at Ford/Mazda headquarters in Irvine? Those are fun and are over early so the rest of the day is free. Rick M. and anyone else interested, get a hold of me. I'd like to go, too.

Back on topic, where is Dave's article available to read?

Always up for Cars and Coffee!

And I'm gonna scoot to the B&N and see if they have UVW... Always liked Dave's writing.
