Title: diamondgreen 60.
Post by: wide-5 on April 13, 2008, 09:23:08 am
Here's my project.
Started a few years ago, with a 60 floorpan, and a 62 body. This car was a really good project, with a lack of rust. :)
Since my first pc broke down, i have lost all the photos from the beginning, but i was a complete teardown, and re-build with lots of new parts. The body needed some welding, and a trip to the local paintshop. I rubbed i down to the bare metal and sprayed it with some epoxystuff myself first.
I think i could have done this car much faster, but with a family, two small kids, and lots of other things to do, the project has been taken a while..  ;)
Here's some pics so far..
Body mounted to the floorpan, and finally ready for the paintshop..

Diamond green it is. But the silver in the paint is changed. We used rougher silver than original.
This gives a more shiny effect. I took it out in the sun a few days ago. It really looks glossy.. He he..  ;D

Long time sice last post, but wintertime means garagetime..  ;)
Just some small mods have been done. Like converting to 28mm torsionbars, mounted CSP torqebar, changed gearbox, powdercoated different stuff, got a hand on a set of steelwheels and overhauled a set of original US-spec headlamps. Some diamondstitch doorpanels is allso made.

nice looking car dude.....great colour!

where did the diamond vinyl come from?....it looks embossed rather than stitched, does it come on a roll like that?.....i might need some of that for my hotrod project!

cheers...jick

Hey..
I think it's from a roll. but I just bought a piece that was enough to make doorpanels, and rear sidecovers.
I think rocket racing knows how to get a hand on this stuff.

Hey.
Summer is soon to become fall, and that means garagetime.. ;D
During the summer i have replaced the forntseats to something better. The old ones looked ok, but more than 20 km pr hour around a corner, i really had to get a grip on the wheel.
So a pair of racetrim seats is installed. I think the look is ok, together with the diamondstitching in there..  Some instruments are added to the dash as well..  8)
the plans for the winter is to build a 1776 cc engine. I have started a little with the enginecase. The oilgallery is drilled an tapped for fullflow. next is to get the crank and stuff in ballance, and start to build. This is just a kind of a budgetengine, but hopefully it will run well.
I'm thinking of using a web 109 cam together with 10,5:1 compression, ported heads, new rockers and shafts, all hardware new, +++
Just a small, but quick engine..
heres some pick's..
Petter.
