Title: diamondgreen 60. Post by: wide-5 on April 13, 2008, 09:23:08 am Here's my project.
Started a few years ago, with a 60 floorpan, and a 62 body. This car was a really good project, with a lack of rust. :) Since my first pc broke down, i have lost all the photos from the beginning, but i was a complete teardown, and re-build with lots of new parts. The body needed some welding, and a trip to the local paintshop. I rubbed i down to the bare metal and sprayed it with some epoxystuff myself first. I think i could have done this car much faster, but with a family, two small kids, and lots of other things to do, the project has been taken a while.. ;) Here's some pics so far.. Body mounted to the floorpan, and finally ready for the paintshop.. Title: Re: diamondgreen 60. Post by: wide-5 on April 13, 2008, 09:31:14 am ready to go:

Title: Re: diamondgreen 60. Post by: wide-5 on May 18, 2008, 19:49:05 pm Diamond green it is. But the silver in the paint is changed. We used rougher silver than original.
This gives a more shiny effect. I took it out in the sun a few days ago. It really looks glossy.. He he.. ;D Title: Re: diamondgreen 60. Post by: wide-5 on June 01, 2008, 11:27:00 am Hey...

Just some small mods have been done. Like converting to 28mm torsionbars, mounted CSP torqebar, changed gearbox, powdercoated different stuff, got a hand on a set of steelwheels and overhauled a set of original US-spec headlamps. Some diamondstitch doorpanels is allso made. Title: Re: diamondgreen 60. Post by: jick on February 23, 2009, 12:21:24 pm nice looking car dude.....great colour!
where did the diamond vinyl come from?....it looks embossed rather than stitched, does it come on a roll like that?.....i might need some of that for my hotrod project! cheers...jick Title: Re: diamondgreen 60. Post by: wide-5 on February 23, 2009, 19:31:12 pm Hey..
I think it's from a roll. but I just bought a piece that was enough to make doorpanels, and rear sidecovers. I think rocket racing knows how to get a hand on this stuff. petter. Title: Re: diamondgreen 60. Post by: 58vw on February 24, 2009, 07:01:22 am great color and great work...keep it up!! ;D

Title: Re: diamondgreen 60. Post by: wide-5 on September 15, 2009, 12:08:50 pm Hey.
Summer is soon to become fall, and that means garagetime.. ;D During the summer i have replaced the forntseats to something better. The old ones looked ok, but more than 20 km pr hour around a corner, i really had to get a grip on the wheel. So a pair of racetrim seats is installed. I think the look is ok, together with the diamondstitching in there.. Some instruments are added to the dash as well.. 8) the plans for the winter is to build a 1776 cc engine. I have started a little with the enginecase. The oilgallery is drilled an tapped for fullflow. next is to get the crank and stuff in ballance, and start to build. This is just a kind of a budgetengine, but hopefully it will run well. I'm thinking of using a web 109 cam together with 10,5:1 compression, ported heads, new rockers and shafts, all hardware new, +++ Just a small, but quick engine.. heres some pick's.. Petter. |
