After that I would have to say '67.

Those years, to me, are the best ones Volkswagen ever produced and when they were at the top of their game as an automobile manufacturer and advertiser.

Probably because I grew up around them, and I always heard from my Dad and my uncles that they were the best year. Naturally my first car was a '67 and I've had four of them so far. I've started to like what I call "early late models" (68 to 71 bugs) a lot more than I used to these days too. I
