Title: Re: kustom rockers on gabfabs 67 Post by: danny gabbard on May 20, 2008, 16:17:20 pm after panel is tacked, that are tig welded I hammer between tack's ,to get edge of seam flat then weld but I use .023 mig wire for filet. never use rod thicker that appearent metal. then grind both sides if ya can get to them ,but only grind weld, not the sheet. then start the hammer process to raise low spots ,from heat from weldind or worpage.

Looks nice 8) Title: Re: kustom rockers on gabfabs 67 Post by: danny gabbard on May 20, 2008, 16:47:03 pm the plan is to make some curved running board like on a new bug then kinda blend into fenders like a 35-7 ford and leave about 1/2 inch of area under door thats painted so you can see door gap .

Check out this thread over at metal meet. http://www.metalmeet.com/forum/showthread.php?t=798&highlight=mig+thin+sheetmetal While your there, check out the post by Danny on the air cleaner he did for Boyd Codington. I have pretty much been living on that forum the past couple of weeks trying to soak up as much as I can. (One of the reasons I have not been on here much lately.) I have been practicing and working with some junk fenders using what I have learned. (I also have a beater bag coming to try some custom shaping. ;D ) Lot of good information there on metal working. Sorry, not trying to hijack Danny's thread. --louis Title: Re: kustom rockers on gabfabs 67 Post by: danny gabbard on May 20, 2008, 21:32:58 pm louis try hammering into or onto the rubber mats that people stand on, same as a shot sack. next come's the spanish wheel

Trying to decide if I want to buy one pre-made or roll my own. Thanks for the tip on the mat, I will give that a try. My friend is also supposed to be bringing me an oak stump to play with. --louis Title: Re: kustom rockers on gabfabs 67 Post by: WCB Hitler's Hot Rod on May 21, 2008, 07:58:26 am Looks bitchen Danny.
