Title: VW Classic
Post by: Worm on June 08, 2008, 23:53:56 pm
So cool to see everyone today and many thanks to the DKP boys for their gracious hospitality!  Some Deeeks showed up from the far away past today, and most of us cast a bigger shadow (except Rick).  There were some truly amazing cars there today.  Great day, cool people (too many to list).

Nice meeting you at Nicks, Worm!   :)

Cool talking with you as well.  I thought about the Plaid seat inserts we discussed, and realized I will be in Ireland in September.....  Yah think I could just maybe find some plaid for my seats there....?  Gonna find out.

Hey DKK boys, post some pics up for Fabs and the boys across the pond.  I didnt take many pics myself but I know Mark did..  How about it?

Fabs, I bought it less than a year ago and have been building it for my son.  He gets his drivers lisense in July and it will be his daily driver.  He is actually quite happy...... ha.  ;D.  We bought it bone stock all beat up with an 80's type plaid interior, banged up fenders and hood, stock height, dead motor, just a hunk.  My boy Morgan and I spent a few hours on it and a few more dollars on replacement parts and other fancy goodies, got a great deal on the wheels ($200), new gas tank, front beam, put a rebuilt 1600 with Kadrons, etc... etc..  And viola!  Its at the classic!  Too funny.

Again, my son can't wait to take it as his own...... :o

Tho, a few of the guys like Brian Plummer, and Jim Smith still own their cars from the 80's.  Jim drove the red Ghia next to mine and hes going to re-new it asap I am told.  As well, he'll probably get the old DKK car out of the garage soon too we hope.

Thanks.
