Title: Euro 2008 Post by: Lids on June 15, 2008, 21:49:27 pm As England didn't qualify, I said to myself I wouldn't watch any matches. But,.... its an excuse to sit and drink beer, whilst me dinner is cooked for me. And tonights game between Turkey and the Czech Republic was amazing.
turkey 2 nil down with 20 mins to go, 2 - 1 down with 5 mins to go, 2 - 3 up with 1 min to go. Then their keeper gets a red card, down to 10 men with 3 mins of injury time to play. Turkey vs Chech Republic was a fantastic match, after two nil I opened a bottle of Fernet Citrus to celebrate, but that was a bit too early.
My team (Finland) has never qualified to the games so I have to support other teams, mainly Italy, Germany, Holland, Sweden Chech Rep. Seeing them play with a 2-0 and then 2-1 lead I found 2-2 are more logical continuation than 3-1... With champions league I find these championships pretty worthless. The matches and teams are not good enough. A good champion league team would beat any of the national teams - any day.
