When I bought my house at Anaheim, I found out I am in a flood zone. I said no friggin' way. These days....ya never know with all this crazy weather. Very sad to see that. What the hell do you do now? huh? :-\ ???

Yeah, that is a real mess for those folks.  Floods are difficult to bounce back from.

My house is situated about 200 ft. from a large creek, but luckily I am elevated above it quite a bit.  The flood plain map doesn't show elevation, so I am required of course to carry flood insurance—which is damn expensive!  When you see those pics from Iowa, then I don't feel quite as bad having the insurance even though it is unlikely I'll ever need it.

Iowa is not a place that comes to mind when I think of floods, I guess you never know.
