yes, that beats going to Home Depot to buy 5/16" nylocks

Good idea.  O-rings, and such would be cool too.
Danny there are numerous pieces and parts from other German cars that can be utilized on VW applications either for improvement or just for something different.
I love going through parts bins

even plater's like crome, cad, polishing, everyboby post where they even had work by somebody or someplace, a library for good and bad, well good or better work not to bag on somebody, but to go somewhere and get good results. building cars you can run into dead end's with project's.

Good idea. I've had Bug doors chemically stripped by a company local to me that specialised in stripping pine furniture! £10 a door - bargain! Can't remember the name but they were on Upper Villiers street in Wolverhampton, for those in the West Midlands! :D

FROST RESTORATION SELL SOME GOOD PRODUCTS .

MACHINE MART ALSO SELL GOOD THINGS .

BEST THINGS I'VE HAD WAS A CAD/ZINC PLATING KIT FROM FROST , HANDY FOR SMALL ONE-OFFS
AND THE JOGGLER/PUNCH FROM MACHINEMART MAKES WELDING SOME REPAIRS EASIER . I HAD THE COMPRESSED AIR VERSION .
WELDING MAGNETS AND VICE CLAMPS ARE CHEAP ENOUGH THERE TOO .
MY PLASMA CUTTER AND MIG WELDER WERE SNAP-ON . WHICH ARE REALLY MODELS BY (IIRC) ESAB , SO MY LOCAL WELDING SUPPLIERS COULD SUPPLY CHEAP CONSUMERBLES .

A LOCAL PAINT SPECIALIST GOT ME THE PAINT THAT THEY USE ON OIL-RIG LEGS ETC. MY SISTERS CAMPER HAS THE BOTTOM COVERED IN IT .....  SHOULDNT RUST AGAIN FOR A FEW MORE YEARS :D

IF YOU KNOW ANYBODY THAT WORKS IN A FOUNDRY , GET A LUMP OF BRASS . I GOT MINE FROM A PLACE THAT MAKES VALVES FOR PIPELINES . USE IT TO ABSORB HEAT WHEN WELDING . I USED TO USE IT FOR FILLING HOLES LEFT FROM REMOVING TRIM .
PLACE BEHING HOLE , MOST OF THE TIME IT WILL HOLD IN THE SLUG OR NAIL IF YOURE USING THAT TO FILL THE HOLE . WELD , THEN COOL WITH COMPRESSED AIR , THEN GIVE A TAP WITH AN HAMMER TO RELIEVE STREES , THEN REMOVE BRASS BLOCK AND ONTO THE NEXT HOLE .

MOST STAINLESS STEEL FABRICATORS USE 1MM THICK CUTTING DISCS .. THESE ARE THE BEST FOR CAR WORK , AS THE CUT QUICKLY HENCE LESS HEAT DISTORTION .

WILL POST MORE WHEN I THINK OF THEM !!!

IF YOU HAVE AN OLD ARC WELDER , YOU CAN GET A CHEAP TIG TORCH , AND CONNECT TO ARGON AND POSITIVE EARTH AND YOU CAN HAVE A GO AT SCRATCH-START TIG !!!

IF YOU KNOW ANYONE THAT OWNS A BAR , THE CO2 THEY USE ON THE BEER PUMPS WILL WORK INSTEAD OF ARGON AT A LOT LESS COST ;)
