My pornographic memory seems to recall Dan Green owned that car and it used an RX-7 oil cooler on the deck lid intake.

Dan Green was a local guy and had a bunch of really cool cars.  He took a baja convertible and brought it back with clips and all so well you couldn't tell.  It was black and won best of show at one of the Bug-O-Ramas in Phoenix.  The ghia was very nicely done like all of his cars.

Nice Ghia. I don't care for how the wheels are fully polished, but the overall call is nicely done.

I just noticed that John Isaacs built the engine.  He used to own Racekraft Eng. in Phoenix and was the guy that would install piston squirters in the case.  He has some serious personal issues and eventually went out of business.

thanks fabs, you're an ok guy!
I really still like the car, sure it would be more appealing with factory detailed 911 alloys but for 1988, this car looks damn good. I forgot it had a 901 trans in it, that's cool. Motor looks nice too, I like how indent in VW shroud was smoothed. I thought I remembered the motor being a little hotter....  but now reading it, it goes with the subtle feel of the car. (but an Engle 110?  ::))

Forgive me if this has been discussed before, but do any of the Porsche 5-spd. transmissions easily intall into a 1967 Type 1 body without altering the engine/exhaust placement?

I think there was an article years ago about doing it.  I think it was Mark Deacon doing the work, but it was a long time ago.  Is that a name from the past or what?...  Perhaps Fabs could find it.  I don't recall whether it was in Trends or Hot VWs.

The 911 esque interior looks good.
