Hi guys,

I have seen some avatars with bmx's in it and followed a few topics where some of you talk about your bmx...  I have a 30 year old bmx myself, but it's nothing special and worth talking about.  It's my baby from back in the days, a cheap frame i got from my nephew when he quit bmxing that i've upgraded with some goodie parts.
But please show us your BMX porn right here.  Please give us some of that robinson, kuwahara, gt, moongoose, pk ripper, hollywod hutch porn...  ;D

vintage 80ies skateboards are allowed too.  :D

I found this week my old gt "steps"  don't know what the exact word is in english...  you bolt these things on your fork and you can stand on it.  you can close them if you don't use them.  One of the guys in the opening scene in RAD have them too.  A very common freestyle option in the us i suppose but here in "the flanders"  ;D  I havn't seen them twice...

We called in "pegs". I haven't seen "Rad" in a long, long time. I still have a couple old bikes. One's a Raliegh BMX and the other in a General freestyle. Fun stuff!

I was looking on ebay for fun at some vintage bmx stuff....  not cheap...   I found a zeronine numberplate just like I had one nos for 120 bucks...  :o  :o   omfg, my mom probably trew it in the garbagebin a few years ago, damn you...  :D

I have a California also, but not sure what vintage.  Mid-80s at least.  I got it from a good friend of mine that got it new and raced it as a kid.  It should soon be going back into service, since I always wanted to race BMX, and finally went to a track the other week with another friend.

I think they were '82 - '85 or so but I'm not sure. Here's another shot of it. The grips and the pads are wrong, (a year or two later i think), it originally had studded ones but I couldn't find any of those. I want another one to do out the way mine ended up pre putting it back as it was. I had Skyways, CWs and a bunch of other more freestyle orientated stuff on it.

I never found any repros that were correct and a lead on a buch of N.O.S. stuff including decals all turned out to be much later stuff. I rebuilt the bike a few years back and there may be more stuff available now? I haven't really been keeping track as I've been spending money on old Volkswagen shit instead! I'd be interested to know if you find anything.

yep, saw a couple of those when I visited a local skate/bmx park last year...  new stuff, but nice!

i still have a 24" frame here with a S&M saddle and a primo bar on it. but not much else. so if someone wants that PM me. i ride skateboards, so a swap for a longboard is an option, or old skate you have.

It not very old, but here is my 1997 Redline Proline XL. I ride it once in a while and it is basically unchanged from the day I bought it except for the shimano dx brake. Does anyone know where I can get pads for it because the originals are faded badly and a source for stickers would be great since I removed them shortly after I got the bike to clean it up.

Im sure that a lot of you had one of these scooters or knew someone who had one. I got it for free many years ago.

me too. A friend in junior high raced one before his Redline. It was pale blue with satin finish Arayas, Comp III's, OakleyF1's
Another guy had a metallic blue Race INC with same satin finish "grey" Arayas

Since we Norwegians didn`t get on the BMX-train when it left the station....at least not in my street....here is what we dreamt about in the days.....

I will try and dig out all my old stuff back from when me and brother used to race. I rode a custom made GHP (Greg Hill Products) as I was only little and my brother rode a Patterson which was given to him from the factory. He wasn't 'sponsored' by them just good enough for them to give him frame to ride  :) Our parents still have an attic full of trophys and a couple of race jersey's too! It's mainly my brothers but I won a fair few trophys aswell  ;D

I still rode trails and skateparks until recently but I kinda just got lazy and haven't been for ages! I ride a Standard 250ox now which is uber nice to ride  ;D

Back in the late 60's and into the 70's when living in Tustin, our neighbor worked at O,Neil Park in the bike shop. he would bring home broken frames and fix them. Us kids got an idea to strip them down. Swinn bikes were big at the time. Al the frames were those. Got wheels with the most spokes in them, used a 10 speed seat, and some wide but low bars. Made some of the the first Bmx bikes. Found a dirt lot on Newport and it had a big hole in the middle of it. Well it worked out to be a cool BMX track for years to come. Just wish i had some old picts to share - only the story is left. Hey Rick if your out there you might remember.

I must be old!! I don't have any photo's of my own, so I found these @ http://bmxmuseum.com/bikes/ to support my generation.

These are the bikes we rode back in the mid 70's. I lived a couple miles from the "Little John Murphy" shop where they made one of the first straight tube frames. The first gen. frames were even lower profile than the one pictured. The LJM bike with motomags was almost identical to the bike I rode in 9th grade. I couldn't find any pictures of the mods we did to the schwinn frames before that, but basically we would cut the 2 small tubes off @ the seat post and add more brazing to the joints. It actually weakened the frame but it looked cool! Anyone else from this era?

Way back when............ Bill and I had a custom Cook Bros / Littlejohn sidehack. I worked at Peddlepower Cyclery and Bill and I raced for Steve Rink (Powerlite BMX) Now 28 years later I'm racing with my son and daughter at the same Orange Y BMX track that we helped start years ago. I'll try to find some pics, I know Bill has some. Here are a couple from this summer.

OKAY --- first I find this website & all I can do is lurk & get excited about all
the vw porn.....now somebody is talking BMX --- my wife may never get me
off this thread !!!! I raced a JMC 24" Cruiser from 1983 - 1992 or so. I worked
next door to the factory,and raced AZUSA, Orange & Montclair Grand prix.
Guys in my age class included Everett Rosecrans (VANS) and Scot Breithaupt
the original O.M. fat tire flyer -- he owned S.E. bikes. Someone commented
on the Zeronine plate -- I have plenty including NATIONAL #16 age group
Cruiser NBL. I mostly rode local events, but drove my 67 sedan w/ bike rack
on the bumper to Vegas, Bakersfield, & Sanger. Went to Lemoore more times
than I can remember, But got a new Hyundai when I drove to Gilroy. I still have
my JMC Frame -- no cracks !! but sadly the forks got ripped from a PRO NECK copy
my kid was riding. I can talk about this stuff all day...... i still have HARO number plates,
WIZARD number plates, and of course my Gear pants & jerseys. Those were the days.
One of these days I'll figure out how to post pics & stuff. I'm sure somebody NEEDS
to see my 24" SKYWAY tuff wheels --- RED to go along with the red,white,blue JMC
theme. Now who is interested ??? There's no school like OLD school !!!!! HOT SHOPPE ??? ;D :D
