Title: your lift Post by: mg on July 31, 2008, 01:07:14 am anyothers? ;)
Would of been nice to have during my first 30 years of air cooled cars. :) Title: Re: your lift Post by: mg on July 31, 2008, 15:56:22 pm fyi I choose the scissor lift as I wanted it to disappear when not in use.
Electric impact also helpful. :) Title: Re: your lift Post by: louisb on July 31, 2008, 16:12:07 pm Nice!

Title: Re: your lift Post by: mg on July 31, 2008, 20:25:07 pm Seen this one on sale for around $1,050 us.
I got mine used for $700. http://www.completehydraulic.com/tcpl6.html (http://www.completehydraulic.com/tcpl6.html) Before I made the shallow pit I had 2x10s to get my very low car over the lift. Title: Re: your lift Post by: vulgaris on July 31, 2008, 22:22:03 pm MG have you noticed this is a VW group? Sorry if i am not impressed with your insipid attempt at impressing us with your Phallic Extension up on a deathtrap lift. Why not go impress your racecar buddies with your broken toy somewhere else?

If I were to be working on a car on that lift I would definitely add some extra protection... btw. There are also people that DO like that phallic extension on top of the lift. But I rather see them in action on the circuit... 8) Title: Re: your lift Post by: mg on July 31, 2008, 23:59:04 pm more lifts.

I don't want a lift at my house. You're right... it's what normal people use. Poor and/or normal. That other thing's a joke and looks rather dangerous. I prefer the old fashion proven safer method. Title: Re: your lift Post by: lowfastbus on August 02, 2008, 08:07:17 am I use the lift Mike showed in the first picture at work sometimes. Really don't see why it would be dangerous?
It is mechanically locked and doesn't go very high... it's however not made to crawl under the lift and work on the car. Very usefull on a VW as you don't reaally need to be on the underside when doing most jobs. Jelle Title: Re: your lift Post by: j-f on August 02, 2008, 09:33:37 am Very useful a lift ;D

GOOD STUFF! Title: Re: your lift Post by: Rune on August 02, 2008, 18:53:14 pm We use this kind of lifts every day at work, they are not dangerous in any way. Perfect for the home garage.
Vulgaris (or to the user that might hide behind this alter ego) please spare us from this kind of bullshit. I have the Snap-On equivalent of that lift. Makes life much easier. ;D i used to have the snap-on equivalent too . as long as we used the right connecting pieces we could just take one side up , like leaving the rear on the floor and taking the front up to 45 degrees . now used by a bodyshop to raise low cars enough to work on lower panels without laying down !!! ;) i remember having a problem once , late at night , working on my own project . car raised right in front of workshop doors , and for some reason i couldnt get the lift to come down !!! i used a big ratchet strap iirc Title: Re: your lift Post by: vulgaris on August 04, 2008, 22:14:38 pm YOU GUYS DON'T SCARE ME WORK ON IT!!!
Title: Re: your lift Post by: Trond Dahl on August 06, 2008, 15:34:26 pm Vulgaris has now been deleted and banned.
I'm getting really tired of theese types of accounts. For the guys that obviously need some attention: go get it somewhere else and don't ruin it for the rest of us. Title: Re: your lift Post by: mg on August 07, 2008, 21:34:07 pm Modified by administrator: lets not get to carried away here. This issue has been resolved with the people involved so I see no need for further discussions on the matter. Lets get back to our lifts...
Title: Re: your lift Post by: mg on August 07, 2008, 23:02:40 pm Trond (sounds similar to a Disney movie cyber name?) forum is working very well.
Curious to the expense of hosting something like this as it appears to be on a large scale. Who's nickel(s) is all this on? |
