Title: porting at home. Post by: nicolas on July 31, 2008, 21:53:14 pm who has done it and most important WHAT can be done? i am not talking about welding and putting in new valves. but let just say you are in the 70's and you got a set off 1600 dualports and want more from your engine. some DIY tricks and thoughts.

Then go steady. It wasn't as tough as I thought it would be and the Dremmel is an easy tool to control. One tip is to buy the Dremel Flexible Cable Holder.(see below) (the guy in the tool store gave me the tip) it made using the tool just like writing with a pen or pencil and you don't need to worry about the cable getting snagged up and causing you to make a mess of the piece you're working on. Post by: nicolas on August 01, 2008, 20:52:00 pm thanks allready for the info. i have the bill fisher book, but i don't have the pictures i need to understand it all in that book. but once i cleaned the heads and shot some valvsprings up my nose when i remove the valves i will try to do some off the advices i read in the Bill Fisher book and found on the cal-look website. but still, i want to hear stories and info, good or bad things.

I think some of my results "worked" with good hp, but I spent so much time and mess doing them, (the latest set of heads going on my '67 were halfway ported by me) Hi Sheep.... ;D Title: Re: porting at home.
