That's great Ben thanks. Not sure what I'd do without all your help with these wheels, it's very much appreciated.

Hello?  :o  What Shubee did to those Porsche pattern wheels is controversial, no doubt about that. But wouldn't you if it was exactly what you needed to make your dreamcar?
The question was if anyone managed to fit a set of 7x15in American Racing five spokes on the back of an Oval running disc brakes. Him answering that he had to shave the fins on the caliper as it is a tight fit with big disc brakes is relevant in my eyes, Chevy or not..

Not with the Porsche Offset  a 15x7 Porsche american has 4 7/8 back spacing a 15x7 chevy american has 3 3/4 back spacing on the 15x7 porsche the offset is to the inside on a 15x7 chevy its to the outside see picture

I agree, how the hell can information on the topic of backspacing on various American Racing wheels help this guy...??! After all all he wants to know is if 7x15 AR fits...!
Can anyone just answer yes or no, with out any background info please... and please no Yankee doodle pics!

The discs shouldnt be a problem as they were designed for a Porsche with discs.  Knowing the width and the backspacing, you can probably play around with the current wheel you have on the car using washers for spacers and approximate where the wheel will land on the inside and outer lip of the fender.

Assuming that the discs on your car do not widen the track at all, I think that they will probably work since I have them on my 67 and Mike Gagen ran them on his 61.

Maybe some of the confusion here arose from my not saying the wheels are 5x130mm and the question was about width and backspacing not stud pattern.

Don't blame yourself. It's not your fault there is one person in the world that likes VW's, and Chevys equipped w/ Porsche wheels ;)

RK Smith has a really cool original 66 Nova Wagon with the same wheel setup. The reason for using Porsche wheels is because of the extra backspace you get compared to the Chevy pattern wheels. That allows you to fit a 7 inch wheel into the back of an early Nova. Normally you would have to run 6 inch wheels instead. And I think the thinking behind the post is to let you know you can run a 7 inch VW pattern American on a disc brake rotor. Jeez, some of you need to lighten up.

Here is a 7 inch rim with disc brake on the 61.
The larger 215? size tire was able to clear everything too.
