Title: fitting a non original ragtop in your vw?
Post by: wolfswest on August 02, 2008, 20:30:44 pm
I was reading in an old volksworld magazine (october 2004 if I'm not mistaking)  and there was an article on fitting a ragtop in your beetle.  Found these guys on the internet:

Looks pretty good I guess...  ???  haven't seen it in real life tough...

Pictures of callook cars with these ragtops fitted available?  Does anybody have experience with these ragtops?

Does this ragtop "glide"  or do you just pull the buttons loose en fold it in the back??

I've had one of their big ragtops in my bay and it worked very well. It buttoned up on the sides and had sliders in aluminium channels. Never had any problems with water either, even during proper downpours or washing the car.
Have also fitted one to a Beetle and it was pretty easy. comes with big template to stick to the roof and cut around.

Probably works well and is functional BUT you can see from a big distance that their not original GOLDE ragtops.
Would',t put one in a car, I think the car would loose value, better off with searching an original donor section

yes, you can see it's not original but you don't have to repaint your car, so that's a positive point...
