Title: Fan Shrouds
Post by: rebel on August 04, 2008, 21:58:59 pm
My friends an me are using aftermarket fan shrouds.
What are your expiriences in the subject in comparison with the stock doghouse one?
I'm using a Scat shroud.
We have noticed problems with matching the engine tin to the shroud and in consequence heat problems.
The aftermarket ones are very stylish, but I have in mind Gene Berg words, that nothing would replace the good, stock cooling...

What is the opinion of The Lounge?

I'm a big fan of Thing shrouds. I like the fit better and I prefer to run the flaps in it. Plus the aftermarket shrouds are razor sharp on the back edges!

I run the Scat DH 36hp shroud, and it seems to work fine, but I don't have a cyl head temp gauge on it either.  Maybe I'm in denial.   :o

I have a Scat shroud on one of my 1776s, decent. I've got an Empi shroud on my daily driver and it is a worthless piece of shit just like everything else they sell.

How many shroud topics does one need.
