Title: Vintage racing? Post by: mg on August 07, 2008, 03:52:28 am Going to Monterey becasue Goodwood is too far away.
http://www.montereyhistoric.com/ (http://www.montereyhistoric.com/) No wine on the golf courses for me but I'll be at the track 3 days hanging around Judge Joe's pit. The Shelby-McLaren was the only McLaren to use a 'big block' Ford Engine. This Shelby-McLaren driven by Peter Revson in the Can-Am Series has just undergone a full restoration which includes an Aluminum 427 FE engine that was taken out to 492 cu.in. Anyone else dig watching the vintage cars? Title: Re: Vintage racing? Post by: stealth67vw on August 07, 2008, 04:10:59 am Jim Ratto, Derick Sanchez(Kafercup), Bryan Wenzel (Soda) and Frank Seifert (Sheep) used to frequent vintage sports car races in the late 90s. Nothing funner than watching rich guys beating the crap out of half million dollar cars.

Title: Re: Vintage racing? Post by: ESH on August 07, 2008, 08:58:35 am Anyone else dig watching the vintage cars? If I get the chance yes but the most recent event here (Silverstone) coincided with the drags, as is often the case. :) Title: Re: Vintage racing?
