in the old VW Beetle Custom Handbook (my first VW book by the way), there's a small detail picture of a red BRM, do you know/remember which car was that one?

No, but I think the DKK guys will know. The photo was taken at the 1988 VW Jamboree in OC.

there was a red choptop in VW Trends July 91, could be that one ;D

cool car, it's true, you don't see many red brm cars...in my opinion they look better than in grey.
it's a pity there wasn't a full pic of the car in the book, btw doesn't the front bumper look funny?

the car was in report in vw trends in late 80's , i will watch and scan

That car used to show up at all the shows in the early to mid nineties.
