Title: Radio blanking plate - urgent! Post by: Neil Davies on September 11, 2008, 08:44:21 am Guys, I'm in desperate need of a blanking plate for the radio slot in a bug dashboard. It's a European-spec 1970, so non-padded dash, with no chrome trim. The bodyshell has been painted and built up, but the painter will be spraying all the smaller bits next week! :o
If anyone has anything, please reply here or send me a PM! Thanks, Neil :) Title: Re: Radio blanking plate - urgent! Post by: SteveW on September 11, 2008, 08:56:07 am I might have a spare one Neil, is it just a normal plate from any year?

Steve Steve, I think they fit any year, I don't think they changed much, only the holes in them. Does yours have trim holes? I have one BUT it has trim holes :-\ :) Lee, if I can't get a blank one I'll probably have yours or Steve's and just get busy with the welder! ;) Is it the one out of Project '66? Title: Re: Radio blanking plate - urgent! Post by: Fastbrit on September 11, 2008, 12:28:58 pm Just hack the dashboard around and throw in a kick-as stereo.

I would do, but I spent three days cutting out the hacked dash and re-welding the middle of another dash in... :D Title: Re: Radio blanking plate - urgent! Steve Steve, I got one thanks, it was sat on the doormat when I got home yesterday! Got it through Volkstorque where I'd also got a wanted ad. Thanks for looking for me though. ;) Neil |
