Jim, you'll need to ditch the Flowmaster and make it a dual Fortuned or single Jeep muffler. And thanks for not having scallops.

That was easy.  This post is a good counter-example of how many cars seem to be way overthought, sometimes.

I think it would be good to see cars like this description come back.

There's one in storage, that I know of , that is a mid 80's time capsule. It should show up at Nick's with some more persuasion. The car has been in storage all this time.

If I had the resources I'd build a dozen or so, just to populate the scene.

I was thinking the same thing about the roof chop. Had to look at my Jan 1990 HVWs that Pat actually gave me. How about some engine pictures.

Yep! It sure did get chopped...... Then rolled over and totaled! The only thing that remains of that car is a green "Tornado" mirror and (I think) a couple pieces of the engine tin. The next time i'm at the shop, I will take a picture of the mirror wasting away in a pile of rusted parts on an outdoor shelf, and post it. Its erie to look at, and know where it came from...

Hey Jim,

I LOVED that car,....loved it. I remember those Searspoint shows like they were yesterday. When Frank Kohlwiese was part of the show, he let me run the car down the track in the brackets drags and I competed in the full custom class. I will have to dig up some old pics and post them up.

I was watching season one of Lost on DVD the other week and John Locke drove something in the flashbacks that could have been the basis of this fantasy car of yours! Red 1968-up Beetle, dechromed, one-piece windows, extra gauges in the dash... :D
From the noise though, no IDA monster in the back, pea-shooters only!

I'm thinking of buying a set of 6" Cookies and color code them with the rest of the car. With polished rims. It should be nice.  :)

7 is  too large, and you are a little bit far away from me and the shipping cost will over price them
  :-\

But, thanks you for the proposition.  ;)

7's are fine I have them on all 4 corners of mine under stock wings/fenders, front beam is narrowed 5 inches though.

I'v run 6" fuchs front for a while and have clearance issue. I also run a narrowed beam but remove it as I prefer a stock original one.  ;)

7's worked on the rear of the Green M&M, with 6's up front. It was an IRS pan too.

A chromed or aluminum angle-cut shroud is a must for any true '80s 'looker.'  ;D  Just kidding, of course.

No worries, thought so! Just trying to clear some space in the garage! ;)

To bring the thread back on track and get away from a classified advert, before I found a buyer for my 70/72 project car, I was going to run the cookies (short axle gearbox in the back for swingaxle), and was seriously thinking of red paint, no side trim or bumpers, painted headlamp rims and all the other chrome painted satin black. Maybe one day... ;D
