Post by: wolfswest on October 02, 2008, 19:02:25 pm
is there a company outhere where I can buy a footrest where I can put my left foot on when I'm cruising?
No, I'm not planning to make one myself...  ;)

You can try to find one of that, but I don't remember if it's a footrest or for the gas pedal.

A lot of later cars come standard with a dead pedal. I've never seen on fitted on an air-cooled VW. That would be rather different. Should be really easy to make one. Or, simply get one from a junk yard from an older Euro car.

That Kamei piece is a throttle pedal. I have a Cosmic pedal for my '67, but it also claims that it can be used as a dimmer switch pedal, or a dead pedal.

I agree, a dead pedal is a nice thing to have, though!

You can see a little of the Empi footrest in the lower left hand corner.(It doesn't have the padded sections in placeat the time of the photo)
