I went on Berg's website, couldn't find any info for the updated cross-rod with heim joints for fan shroud linkage.

Anybody have any info?

Jim you will probably have to call them and ask for Alastair.  He is the one that I dealt with to get my upgrade kit.

the "old" Berg linkage has always had some minor shortcomings, in my opinion. Both are wear related.
One is that their old ball joints from cross rod to drop arms wear out (unsealed), if even you kept them clean and lubed. Secondly, the metal on metal contact of cross rod to support eyelets wear after years of use (and care) and carb opening goes off (rod moves instead of staying rigid, and carbs open at different rates).

Though the Berg linkage is nice, I'm sure a better linkage can be made. I'm talking to a friend of mine to fab me a linkage modeled after/made out of  911 Weber linkage.

why a linkage, we should do it like motorcycles with cabels easy to tune ??? ??? ???

I bought the updated linkage a few months ago for my IDAs. It is very, very nice compared to the older linkage. Heim joints have replaced the metal to metal pivot points on the crossbar. The ball joints now have rubber dust boots and turn buckles are now available for precise adjustments without removing the drop rods or bending the linkage like in the past. The zinc galvanized plating is also much, much better. The linkage I had on my 1776 came pre-rusted and with already sloppy worn out ball joints. I was much happier with this purchase compared the the last time I bought their linkage 14 years ago.

I have been thinking of using the CSP linkage. At least it doesn't look like something that fell off a grocery cart.

You know damn well I don't work. ;D I'm just really impressed on how much better this linkage was compared to the last one i bought. That's all.

I just bought 3 sets of linkage I was so impressed. Not on the car yet so if you want up close shots, let me know what shots and I will post them today

Also I have 3 hexbar linkages that are for sale if anybodies interested, 2 for IDA, 1 for IDF

Here's mine.  I eliminated the washers used as spacers and got some stainless shaft collars from McMaster Carr.  I think it makes for a cleaner look.

Here are a few pics of the linkage in question with a few close ups, much better linkage than before, I believe comes in all stainless also.

What are the small bolts/jam nuts shown on the ends o the main cross bar used for?

I always thought they were a throttle stop if you wanted?

Those are the throttle stops. Grind them off. I know somebody that crashed his car because of them. Throttle wedged wide open and the mag wouldn't shut off at 9000 RPM. He stopped the car with a telephone pole, and had to call Danny Gabbard to put Humpty Dumpty back together again.
