Rich "Selecta" Whitlock's old '72 - done to look like a '66, with eyebrow lid, lexan headlight covers etc. looked ace with trhe 914's fully polished - I don't think the factory detailing would have worked so well with the dark paint (Porsche Iris Blue).

Thank you  ;D

I did have some clearance issues with mine and dropped spindles, until I clearanced the lower edge on the lower trailing arm, and fitted 3.00mm wheel spacers.

they have a 35mm offset compared to 22mm of repro eight spokes, mine are fitted with stock beam/spindles and sit just right ;D

2.0 Fuch's, Pedrini's, and Mahle's are all 5 1/2" wide with 4 3/4" backspace. Drop spindle ball joints will rub ever so slightly, just have the wheel machined a hair. Original EMPI Spyder's are 5 3/8" wide with 4 3/8" backspace as I recall... it's been a while since I've measured mine. They wont rub on the ball joints.

Man I wish somebody had told me that at the time I was having my issue.  I had a set of OG Fuchs, 2.0 liter alloys, needed polishing and/or paint detail, whichever way I wanted to go, picked 'em up for $50.  One wheel had a bit of curb damage, but the others were fine.  Ended up getting rid of them because I refused to grind on the bottom ball joint; had I known I could machine in the ball joints deeper or else machine the backs of the wheels, I never would have let them go.  Que sera sera.

Can't go wrong with 2.0 Fuchs wheels and an orange air cooled German car.

Very Nice car, as are all the cars featured on this thread. I've always had a soft spot for 2.0 Fuchs, and Porsche cookie cutters, both, in my opinion, under appreaciated wheels in VW-land.

This car belongs to dvf member Dave's Mother. Normally the car runs ritters but for the bugtour Dave mounted his 2l Fuchs. It must be the coolest beetle driven by a grandmother!

I think Patrick wins the award for most cars entered in DRKC by an individual person.
