Title: Cages and Headliner

Right at the stage where the fiat is booked in for its cage , but do i get the headliner in first or after. Bearing in mind i wont be doing it so the trimmer will have a tough time when the cage is in ?

berni did mine after the cage. i think he said he aint ever doing that again! lol

I only told you that to make you feel bad as I kept banging my head on yours and you did have a few bars ;). Since I learnt to be a contortionist on yours I have done quite a few since. A good trimmer can do it after the cage is fitted but it is a little bit of grief. If the headliner goes in first the welding will burn it. Bernie

strange post this...... My Safety Notice !

At SCC this year I removed the headlinner from Der Express Because of the incident Bernie had with his car, I know that they finish the car but if its a race car and there is any chance that this will be a problem my advice would be dont install one at all, we all drive rear engine cars and if a fire was to happen it will travel forward a lot qucker with a headliner. I know that on older race cars it may be more of a problem but Bernies car was newish and had the best of everytning..... accidents can and do happen.

That's why I am not fitting one on my rebuild but should I decide to do one at at a later stage it will be in Nomex. Bernie

Sorry meant to say : Thank you for the advise Russel but the fiats aim is to be a road car that will see more track action every year. I plan to drive to EBI in it so a bit of comfy bits to ease the noise of the monster in the back will be nice.
