Title: Valve cover venting,routing (solution to filing up) Post by: RFbuilt on October 28, 2008, 10:43:08 am been thinking about what most others do for their solution...
i understand the venting of valvecovers to relief pressure build up and routed to a catch tank or breather box etc.. how 'bout the solution the circuit guys or even drag applications.. where filling up the valvecover with oil due to high rpm's or whatever... the solution? ive seen most guys (via the net) route 1 or 2 hose from the bottom of the valvecover down straight to the oil sump as drainback.. some guys ive seen 4 total drain back's with 2 on each valvecover.. after seeing mufflermike's old vid of a window'd valve cover.. it def fills up quite fast hehe my question is.. while it may be ok for straight line application.. wouldnt the drains act against its function lets say doing a hard turn (circuit) ? making a hard left turn , the left valvecover and drainback ,still will drain excess oil in the VC, but doing the same turn wouldnt the right side fill up? thinking how oil would tend to move to the right when making a left turn? or does it just not find its way up the hose and into the valvecover? |
