Title: anyone used dynamat Post by: Rocket Ron on November 09, 2008, 23:59:46 pm I've been looking at this to cut down on the noise on longer trips.
Anyone used this with good results ? I know it adds weight but I think the 36ft2 roll comes in at 7kg Title: Re: anyone used dynamat Post by: 67worshipper on November 10, 2008, 00:05:24 am was it too noisey for you on the way back from slough then ron? had a good look at your car in the car park ;) absolutely beautiful ron you must be chuffed :)

What areas did you do fire wall floors doors etc Title: Re: anyone used dynamat Post by: ian c on November 10, 2008, 18:17:04 pm rolls of self adhesive flashband from b+q or the like will do a similar job .
then apply "horse hair" or similar carpet backing on top , then your trim to cover it all . Title: Re: anyone used dynamat Post by: 67worshipper on November 10, 2008, 20:30:46 pm We'll try and sort out something nearer the time yep sounds good mate ;)
Title: Re: anyone used dynamat Post by: Steve D. on November 11, 2008, 05:41:43 am All I did was the motor side of the firewall and it helped a bunch. After that, I skuffed up the foil backing on it with a scotchbrite pad and shot it with some 3M undercoating for a tough, simple looking firewall that wouldn't fall off the spikes and get sucked into the fan ::)
Just be cautious though, the adhesive on that stuff is CRAZY strong! |
