Sure Mike.

I can sell most of them for $100 each + shipping, only the special ones go for more.
(Special ones are Harry Hill, Van Wyk of Santa Barbara, Competition Motors, NOS Catron, Renfree Orange, Porsche dealer frames, the pre'56 frames and probably a few I forgot.)
As the Vegas frame has a Porsche logo, it's a Special one.

Lee,

You sound like a little kid. Please think before you act.

Here you can find the shipping fee's:
tnt post (http://www.tntpost.nl/voorthuis/brieven-en-kaarten/brieven-en-kaarten-sturen/aangetekend/tarieven_aangetekend_buitenland.aspx)
I pack these frames like crazy, because I've recieved too many broken frames already. With a strong box, packing materials and the frame the package weighs over 500gr, so the post office charges me 21 euro's. Then I charge 2 euro for the packing materials and driving 5km to the post office and 5km back. Pretty reasonable I think..

and who on earth charges a paypal fee,
I do. Get over it.
If you don't want to pay the fees, the frame is $135 for you.

You don't have to buy it dude. If it's too expensive for you, just say so. I don't care..

Like I said in my PM dude it seems like you are on here just to make money and I for one am not going to help you

Like I said:

- No one charges paypal fees
- No one charges packing fees
- No one charges for a trip to the post office
- No one charges 21 euros for a 500g package  :o

I think you can gather that I will not be buying this SINGLE plate frame and I very much doubt that any one else will at these prices  :)

Dude, I sell about 100 packages a year thru thesamba, all the same way with the same conditions, with MANY happy buyers.
I've sold frames and will sell more, I really don't need you to buy anything from me. Thanks.

This remark is just plain stupid. Check the link in my above post, even if you can't read Dutch you should understand.. ::)

I hate it when people charge paypal fees. There was one guy on thesamba who had an add up, he stated the price and said that he only accepted paypal. No problem, right? At the end of the add it said, "If paying by paypal, add 5%". What the fuck, dude? Just add it in to your original price you fucking moron!!!

plus the paypal fee is incorrect it should be $8.16, this is because they work out 5% of the final amount, not 5% of the original price, so what you really need is 95% to be equal to the amount you are after.  therefore divide by 95 and multiply by 100.  SO it could be worse!

That's cool Mike.

I never said my frames are cheap. They're not. And many parts I want/ need for my car aren't either.
We all have the choice to buy a part on not. You decided not to buy the Vegas frame, because it was crazy expensive. That's fine, it was the first frame I ever bought, and it's a great souvenir of my first SoCal trip a few years ago. I'd rather keep it anyway, that's why I ask this price. ;)

But if Lee want cheaper shipping, then this would mean the frame would have a bigger chance of breaking. I'm not gonna do that, then I'd rather not sell the frame..

BTW Mike, the fees are about 4% of the final amount, that's why I ask 5% of the original price. Sometimes it's a bit less, sometimes a bit more. On average it's ok.

actually fees depend on the account type and payment method.  In most cases it can be free.  at most its 4.9% if a USA account or 3.4% for euro account.

Also the amount you pay for shipping has NO effect on "how carefull" they are  ::)

To the guys at UPS/Fedex/etc its just another brown package that gets thrown around with the others.

I sent a COMPLETE ORIGINAL empi eliminator to a friend of Kobus's a while back in belguim and it only cost me about £20/$35 and that was extra special insured post.

Some people just live in as dream world I guess  ::) ;) :)

Dude, what's your problem?
Click on the link, there's the exact costs:
tnt post (http://www.tntpost.nl/voorthuis/brieven-en-kaarten/brieven-en-kaarten-sturen/aangetekend/tarieven_aangetekend_buitenland.aspx)
21 euro. Outside Europe. Signed for.
The thinker you pack a frame, the better it's protected but the bigger and heavier the box is you need. Which makes the package over 500gr.

Anyone who recieves one or more frames from me, will find that ammount in postage paid on the package. Every package between 500gr and 2kg costs that much.

Anyone who thinks my frames are too expensive, please don't buy them. Simple as that.

I believe it's illegal to add service charges to a credit card sale.  Why would it be any different w/ Paypal when you're required to back up the account with a credit card???  If you want to recover paypal fees, add it to your price......otherwise it makes you look shady.

No it's not illegal. Only when selling on ebay it's not allowed to add the fees to the total price.
If you don't want to pay the fees you can send cash or make a bank transfer, although a bank transfer would probably be more expensive from non-Euro countries.
If you think I'm shady check my feedback on thesamba.. But thanks for the tip.

I'm looking for a Simi Valley Volkswagen plate frame for my '70, and I didn't peruse the photos to see if you had one (momentary ADD on my part), but, as a legitimate question, why the steep prices for plate frames?  I see them going for a lot less at local swap meets.  Is the demand for these plate frames really that high?  I'm not bitching about prices just asking a legit question.

I didn't say you were shady......I don't know you.  I said it makes you look shady.  Take note for the folks that don't like seeing the paypal fees added for your own sake.  As a buyer, it's a turn off.  Paypal fees are part of the gig as a seller.  You gotta pay to play. If I see the same item listed from two sellers, and one is going to add fees, I'll go right around them every time.

Hey bro. Sorry, but I don't have a Simi Valley frame.. :(
About the prices: I guess it always comes down to how bad a seller wants to sell, and how bad a seller wants to buy. I don't want to sell off my entire collection, but I don't mind letting some go to make some cash at this moment. On average I've paid far more for my frames than the price you see them for on the swapmeets, due to the shipping cost I have paid, the (heavy) import taxes that I am charged here and the number of broken frames I have recieved already. I'm not selling my frames with a loss, then I'd rather keep them, so that's why my prices are so steep.
Thanks for your interest anyway.
