Title: What should I use to clean and polish my EMPI woodrim wheel?
Post by: Sam K on November 30, 2008, 21:05:33 pm
I was driving my bug the other day and I realized that I've never polished the steering wheel. Does anyone have any suggestion for what products to use to clean and preserve it?

I've restored my empi steering wheel with steel wool.
Perfect for the stainless steel and perfect to clean the wood.
After using it on the wood, you need to use some dark wood taint and eventually varnished it.

I cleaned up the "wood" on mine with a soft scotch brite pad... after that it really looked like shit, really dry, and in need of a fresh varnishing :( So I drove my car and contemplated what to do about that... in a couple days time the oils from my hands made the wheel look as rich as a new wheel! So I left well enough alone ::)
