Title: SCOTTP's 63 Ghia Coupe Project
Post by: SCOTTP on December 16, 2008, 05:58:36 am
I bought this car from a co-worker at the Phone Co. March of 2004... It sat in this location in Yorba Linda for11 years. I got it running and drove it for a few months...then it was time to start on a pan off build.

how did you move the air thru the filters? no problems with static electricity fronm the plastic with the paint fumes? or those flourescent light fixtuers? ive thought about doing it myself but was a bit nervous of explosion. cool car, looks really nice

Holy COW... what a nice car, Scott! Dig the 1980 license plate, too. (1AAA000 started off that year and format)

Killer job on the backyard spray booth, as well. Can't wait to see that car when it's all built. Thanks for sharing and please keep the cool pics flowing.

Not only is the plate # sequence cool... the chassis # is 5432104 Really easy to remember!

Exhaust fans moved 4500 cfm...Todays spray guns have only 10psi at the cap. Most of the material stays on the car. The mist never got near the plastic or the lights. Not a high enough concentration of flammable material for a spark to ignite. The new paints are high solids.. not as much reducer as in the past.

Hey Sarge, I'm thinkin' since you helped put the body on ...you could just have the T bars...They would look Bitchn' on your ride.

Thanks again to you and  Bill Schwimmer and Dustin for the help.

Here's a few pics of the day. Looks like I caught you with the spy-cam!
