Title: What inner tubes in my slicks?
Post by: leec on December 29, 2008, 15:56:54 pm
Got a pair of 6 inch (26inch tall) M+H slicks coming.

Is there a special type of tube i require or can any tyre fitting centre supplied one do the trick?

Run 'em tubeless if you can.

I run them tubeless on tubeless rims as well. Worked great this year (first time too with real slicks ;))

My wheels are split rim and i currently run tubeless radials

Why should i avoid tubes?

The tubes add weight and the sidewalls are not as stiff when run tubeless.
Run tubes if you want, but it's not necessary

We had to inflate to over 100psi to get the slicks on my dad's Ercos to seat. Scary stuff.
