Found this in a new engine case, good job I took the time to read it, was looking really tasty too.  :o

good that you saw it, but weird that you didn't eat it  :-\

so is the case chemically treated against corrosion?

It was a close run thing!

I guess it must have some kind of treatment, I tried to look up the web address to see if I could find out more about it but the address doesn't work. Been interested in Magnesium treatements for some time, there's a passivation surface treatment (Dow No. 7) and was wondering if this was perhaps what they used. Thing is, is no corrosion and tasting good too much to ask for?
