Title: Fuel line, braided?
Post by: AntLockyer on December 29, 2008, 23:00:54 pm
If someone had a length of braided hose laying around, is there a good reason for not running it instead of a heard line from the front to the back?

I thought there was somehting in the rules about it but can't find anything.

If you run race fuel, watch out as the fuel will eventually cause the lining of some braided hosing to deteriorate and collapse. I chased that problem for half a season before working out what had happened. Better to use hard line, if you ask me.

Thanks Keith, I will be running race fuel so that's a good reason to use hardline.

I'm just dreading trying to get it through the tunnel.

If you run the SS braided hose w/ teflon tubing, you won't have any issues w/ race gas.  This hose does require different fittings though.  This is just about the best hose money can buy.
