Title: Cb's cnc heads and difference

Going to buy me a new set of heads :P

From what i've read i'ts very good value for the money to buy cb's cnc heads and put a little magic on them....

Just wonderig, there are several models on CB's homepage that are cnc machined.

I'm going to buy one of those, i have a w125 camshaft ,IDa 48:s and want good response in low-mid range dont want to rev so much past 7000rpm.
The car is of course meant to be street driven,mainly. ;D

Models that i'm looking at are:

There are different chamber and ports, want to hold comp.around 9,5:1

For what you would pay for those and then have someone clean them up, you can have Jeff "Ugly Duckling" Denham build you a set. He is doing my heads and he posts on this forum. I would talk to him.

Yepp, i've done that emailed Jeff, but i want to compare both him and Steve Tims heads to CB's( and Jeff,yes he is truly a magician)

What i also want is reloccated sparkholes, the heads from the "magic boys" don't have it until i step far above 1000$

The thing for me is that i have several things orderd from cb and shipping is very expencive to were i am, so its more money for the buck to shop at one place ;)

That is understandable. I have heard Steve Tims does a good head too. Not knocking CB, most of my engine's internals is from them.  ;)

I can only speak for the CNC Wedgeports wich i have on my 2276. Only cleaned up behind the seats(easy job). Makes around 180-190hp if I should guess. FK8 cam.
Will do some more porting this winter and put in a FK46 and lighter valvetrain components, pistons and rods and balance the whole thing all over again.
I´m happy with them, not that they are perfect in any way.

The only reason I can think of to "clean up" the ports on CBs CNC heads is to satisfy one's aesthetic desires. The CNC Comp Es on the blue car are "out of the box", went on untouched,  flowed 270CFM (.700" lift at 25 inches) with CBs welded intake manifolds, and the motor made 269 hp thru the muffler on the dyno when we first got it going with those. They have well over 450 runs on 'em now and still going.

11.40 @118 at a little over 1900 lbs.

You can argue flow numbers till you're blue in the face, but the Dyno and the ET don't lie.

Thanks for the inputs,
nobody seems to have used the mini wedge's so i think i'll go with that ;)
and matching cnc intake manifolds.

could make a review later this summer :D

The hp numbers and top speed don't lie ;)
