Title: Measure IDA flange / turn flange
Post by: Felix/DFL on January 04, 2009, 21:04:01 pm
Hi,

I am searching for the correct measurments for the IDA gassers. I remember that I saw a pic were all the needed dimensions (from, till, holecicle and so on) were displayed but I can`t find it anymore...
Has somebody got that draft for me?

I want to turn the flanges on my short mainfolds and need the measures to fabricate an good setting model.

Best greetings,
Felix

Why don't you use mine or the Berg manifolds ? They can be used in both ways

Here you go!  :)

Yes! That is not the one I had in mind but it is perfect.Thank ya!

@Udo: I already hunted down a nice and very cheap pair of short mainfolds on thesamba.Same mold as racetrim and DDS.I think it is not that complex to switch the flanges.I even want to move the flange at the 3&4th Cyl. a bit to the back cause they are going into an typ-3.
Of course I know the nice mainfolds you are making, but they were not available back then... ;) And otherwise I would hack of the other non needed holes.

Grüße!

So the turning has come to an good end.

1st: bulid a fixture
2st: Hack the heads off
3st: turn flanges
4st: Ready for typ-3 compartment (Pic`will follow)

Of course it was a bit work but the results looks nicely, they just need the end finish.

Now test fitted. A bit material had to be removed on both sides, mainly at the area around the 3rd Cyl.. The "Problemchild" is always the 3rd, what a bastard  ::)
