The thing that bothers me is whether the advance curve is adjustable ::)

yeah,I need the best for the buck distributor but which has changeable advance curve :)Vacum advance is not a must, but would be a nice adition.Other reasonable price distributor is a 010,Mallory is too much priced and has some quality control issues in the latest production :-[

i think a 010 is not adjustable. it is a 'standard curve' and the only adjustment is losing one spring.

i dont think the cb one is adjustable,
to do that you need something more expensive like mallory...
but do you really need it?
i can adjust my advance with the pc,
but after reading the stories about locked magnetos,
i dont think its so necessary anymore...
just set a 010 or 009 at 32° like in the picture:

the advance of the cb is that you will get a hotter spark,
and i think it works with a hall sensor too..
so no more points

cheers, Peter

A bit OT, but hey...
Ruff, where did you get that chart? And what does it show?

Yeah, the 010 has a good curve as shown, good for the most of the engines.

I sent an e-mail to the CB Peformance regarding this particular distributor,so will see what they have to say.I can't find it on their web site, and on the Samba forum I read in some topic that it has been discontinued because of quality control issues  :o

Looking forward to their mail,so I will know exactly where I am .
