Title: dimensions of radio
Post by: Diederick/DVK on January 08, 2009, 15:59:06 pm
i'm not around my car at the moment. i was wondering if anyone knows the dimension of the radio hole.

better still, how large does a radio need to be to fit in my '67?

thanks  ;)

Not sure, but I know they're smaller than standard DIN size radios. Are you trying to repair a cut out dashboard? If so, Karmann Konnection sells a repair panel, although I used a section cut out of a donor car to repair mine. If you're looking for a radio to fit, then I think CIP1 has a period-style radio with MP3 input for a reasonable price.

i found a very cool radio, but i can't tell if it will fit...
faceplate dimensions are 173 x 50 mm, but they size of the radio is not listed though from the pictures i can tell that it's about the same.

could it be that a 911 radio is smaller? i measure my old radio and it was something like 19x6cm
