Anyway, Dean Kirsten is aka "Deano", which has been my nickname since the Flintstones were new on TV.... even before Dean and Ken Lowry started their business devoted to fast VWs. When the DDS craze hit in '69, "deano" was back in vogue only now, with a lower case d. I had someone come up to me at the last Bug-In mixer, and ask if I was the real "deano", which certainly I am not! There can only be one Dean Lowry. deano is cetainly easier to remember than Dean Kir....whatever his name is. So, I answer to deano without issue. Formerly Stockholm, Sweden -since a few months back living in Kalmar, Sweden Somewhat of a late bloomer when it comes to ACVWs and anything Cal Look related, bought my first bug a restored 1962 "resto-looker-of-sorts" with raw BRMs, OPW, lowered stance etc, at the age of 30 (!) as a present to myself and I was hooked - sold it a few years after to carry on with a project on my own - been a car nut since the day I was born spending all my allowances on Matchless, Hot Wheels and Corgi toys - and I'm passing on that tradition to my kids ;D Before opening the door to Cal Look heaven I used to tinker with Austin Minis and I'm a huge fan of cars from the -50-60s...
