Is the 1915 going to see over 7k rpm? That will probably be absolute max, but I'd like to have a little extra on the dial. The 911S tach will suit the motor perfectly, redline included. Post by: bang on January 12, 2009, 12:14:42 pm i drilled the two holes left from the middel. one of the switches are a 3 setp one the other one is a potentiometer. and the 3 step switch is for 4-6 and 8 cyl. it is some years ago i did it so i cant remember whitch one is what put think u can feel it if you try to turn it.

Sorry, but that's not true. It is very easy to simply (but carefully) peal back the rear edge of the trim and remove it, along with the glass. Then you can unscrew the back of the gauge. Refitting means simply bending the edge of the trim back into place. I did all this to repair a speedometer in my Porsche 911.
