Maybe you had other problems; Rick's lost around 7 to 8hp over a stinger on Heads Ups Dyno. BTW Rick is using a 1 3/4 header with the BUGPACK mufflers. Title: Re: best twin quietpack? BTW Rick is using a 1 3/4 header with the BUGPACK mufflers. there you have it: I used the standard 1 5/8 DQP and that setup sucks. I think if you use a 1 3/4 setup it would work great but I don't think you can buy this setup, If it's possible please let me know where, I will buy them immediately! ;D Title: Re: best twin quietpack? Post by: Diederick/DVK on January 29, 2009, 11:26:10 am i think the bugpack mufflers only come in one size and it's just the header that is larger, right?

The bigger ones are handmade... correct me if I'm wrong.Title: Re: best twin quietpack? Post by: Diederick/DVK on January 30, 2009, 12:19:32 pm my bugpack came with a 1 1/2" header, but i'm pretty sure it's not smaller than your 1 5/8". just one size IMO.

But I need neither of them, I want 1 3/4 DQP's ;D Title: Re: best twin quietpack? Post by: Shubee2 (DSK) on January 31, 2009, 00:02:21 am who makes the best qp? Post by: RhoadsVW on January 31, 2009, 18:00:42 pm I have the Thunderbird standard exhaust with the dual mufflers (of course) and they do fit very nice. They are on my 67 street car. Thick flanges and do tuck under like the old Four Tuned. They also make 1 5/8 merge with dual mufflers also like the old Four Tuned. Dave Rhoads
Thunderbird part # H3948 Dual muffler Thunderbird part # H4111 15/8 Merge header Title: Re: best twin quietpack? Post by: beetletom on January 31, 2009, 18:10:31 pm do they sound loud?

Loud and i only had a single! ;) Title: Re: best twin quietpack? Post by: RhoadsVW on February 02, 2009, 02:59:51 am I have them on a 2027 with 8.5 compr. and are pretty quiet. I have the Thunderbird dual mufflers. Very smooth and crisp sounding. I have always liked this type of exhaust and sound better. Dave Rhoads
Title: Re: best twin quietpack? Post by: Neil Davies on February 02, 2009, 10:28:26 am I used to have the Bugpack merged 1 5/8" header on my Ghia with their dual q/p's and the sound was really nice, not as loud as the "bread-bin" turbo mufflers and nothing can beat the balanced look. Unfortunately, I caught the left hand one on a kerb when I was pulling out of a tight parking spot and bent it.

Dave Rhoads Thunderbird part # H3948 Dual muffler Thunderbird part # H4111 15/8 Merge header checking the thunderbird (pertronix) website, they still make the merged header, but don't list the muffler. i found a 2006 PDF and they show the dual muffler for merged. so i guess Benssp is right in that they no longer make them ? they just list the single quiet for merged... Dave Rhoads what size are the scat/al's headers from the other thread 1 5/8s ? thanks Title: Re: best twin quietpack?
