Tech-Rules for Test & Tune in Bitburg

 

Street-registered cars, such with temporary 04/06/07 tag as well as cars registered in foreign countries may run in the Test&Tune. Vehicles with truck-registration and motorcycles are not permitted. Rental cars are also not allowed to run!

The (streetworthy) condition of all vehicles is at the driver's/owner's responsibility. The 1on1 team reserves the right to disqualify cars which present a security risk at any time. Same applies in case of modifications after tech inspection, or to drivers which are not acting sportsmanslike and ignore instructions.

The group Public Street is for all cars with regular street registration plates according to german requirements or equivalent (i.e. US cars with no major modifications to engine, exhaust system, suspension/axle/wheels). Nitrous and/or slicks are not permitted in this group. Any car not meeting the Public requirements will be assigned to Modified Streetmachines. Cars without street registrations are assigned to the Open class.

General requirements:

    * Helmet required regardless of car speed
    * Muffler not louder than 98 dB(A) at 3800rpm
    * Car registration papers and Drivers Licence
    * Safety Belt (minimum for Oldtimers = 2-point)
    * Battery fastened using either OEM or equivalent
    * No lose objects (remove spare tire, tools, etc. or fasten)
    * all Brakes must be working, all lines intact
    * Lug nuts must be complete and undamaged, hub caps must be removed (for the time of the race)
    * Clothing from natural fibers, long pants, at least short sleave shirts
    * all tires have to be in decent, street-legal condition
    * original car interior (passenger and rear seats may be removed for the race)

Speed or time dependend requirements:
faster than
time/speed 1/4 mile    minimum requirements
14 seconds (13,5 sec *)
   

    * rollbar for convertibles

12 seconds (11,5 sec *)
   

    * rollbar
    * 4-point harness

11 seconds    

    * rollcage and window net (except unmodified full-body cars)

10 seconds    

    * rollcage and window net

10 sec. or
135mph or
rear mounted battery    

    * circuit breaker at rear of car

(* only for street registered cars with valid inspection sticker, per decision of inspector)

Nitrous/Slicks: Not permitted in group Public Street.

In group Modified Streetmachines the appropriate requirements have to be fulfilled:
Nitrous:    

    * bottle with original mounting equipment.
    * bottle has to be certified for 124 bar / 1800lbs (DOT-1800)
    * no bottle heaters
    * blow valve outside the drive cabin.

Slicks:    

    * only on the powered axle
    * "C-Eliminator Clips" when using OEM axle
    * or non-OEM-axle with appropriate strength

Racing modifications that are not street-legal have to be removed before leaving the premises!

I'm interested too. Would be nice to work to a certain goal each year. It would be nice to have a three out of four races rule so you can still enter the competition if you have other oblogations some weekend.
What about the classes? I would say there has to be a mouse motor class (untill 1700?), turbo class, NA Class.

I thought about bracket classes for the slower cars or index classes like 11.9 or 12.9 and a class like super street and a turbo class .

Your car is not a turbo car like a racecar with turbo , more streetable  :)

i am up for that. to be honest i really like to race at DDD, but the cues are getting endless. so a class system with a rolecall would greatly improve the waitin and workin on the car. if you want to fix something the wait is even longer and no access to the stands because the line is so long. then the americans have a heat and things end up even longer. so i was personnally thinking off not racing and enjoying the event itself insted off getting stuck in the waitinglines all weekend long.
as for a bracket class that would be great as well. that way my 1776 fastback could be competetive for once. so maybe a trail/dial in on saturday till 12 or 2 and a couple off elimination rounds.

i don't think slow and really fast cars in the same bracket is a bad idea and they need a league off their own; imho.

I'm up for the slower class too BUT I'll still be ahead of that big Ol' heavy Fastback  ;) :-* ;D

I think we ask Kobus if he has interest and may be he has some people to help (gathering the times ) . I think the best way is to do the inscription for the classes at the DAS tent and ask Silke if it is ok for her to make an extra lineup and set the computer .

Yes we would like to camp there at the pitarea, but we also would like a bath/shower  ;) we have 1000km back home and after 3 days of race etc.....yeah you know what I mean!

The best way you get an answere is if you ask at  www.1on1-motorsports.de  -forum . Normaly they open at 1700 , but on an event like this with one of the biggest gathering of VW racers in europe they can open a little earlier !? ???

no , this is the only thing that we miss at Bitburg . Some people book a room at a hotel where they can take a bath . Hello Elnef , you can find some shower at a gaz station near Bitburg ( +/- 5 kms ) for 2 € , always clean and the water is hot ...

some of of have no cooling on the engine so who long is the rund back from the Strip  to the pit

are pit bike ok to pull car back to the pit´s ?

to the Danish Racers, the cars wait at the end of the strip on the right of the run off area, and they come back over the track in a big group (Do not drive over the timing cables please)
you can use pitbikes to tow the cars back, that's no problem.

Admission price is 25€ on Friday and Saturday and 15€ on Sunday. On Saturday evening there is a Live Band playing and our usual DAS DVD Projection on the "big" screen and a bit of music from our club DJ's!

The gate opens on Friday at 18.00H!

NEW! There is No Camping or car parking allowed on the grass that is towards the main runway, new airport rule, however we can park the trailers on there (the grass get sold to a farmer for cattle feed (nice huh with all those airplane fumes on it....)

I've been there yesterday,and I can say (for me) it was AWESOME.
Beautiful weather,met some nice people(loungers and non-loungers  :D ) and a lot of FAST cars(bugs,us-iron and hot rods).
There was also a weird "vw golf 2" with massive slicks up front.It was Germany's fastest frontwheel-drive car.Don't know the time in Bitburg (in the 10's) but it was fastest in Hockenheim 10,37sec @226km/h.
The"shitbox" doing massive burnout's and wheelies and nice cal- lookers and german-lookers.
