My CB lashcaps that came with the rockers are loose on the valve stem end of my new heads,I mean tottaly loose,when I rotate head they fall off

Is there any other brand of lash caps that would fit snug?

Good question. I have a set of new Bugpack ones, but they seem to fit not really snug either. Your CB's are 8mm as well?

They are loose on the valves of my Steve Tims stage 2's

This is the stroker clearenced camshaft thas is going into my motor.

I just wanted to be sure,and to ask you guys here,does this look to thin,or is it Okay that it is turned so much on hte lathe.I mean with Bugpack 4047 dual springs set up for high lift,is there a chance for it to break?

This lathe turned camshaft is 16mm in the thinnest part,while an untouched cam looks like 21mm in the same area

What crank do you have ? Normaly 20 mm is enough to clearance all crank sizes .

I have had a set where 4 were OK and 4 were junk and far too sloppy. I made my own, it was a hell of a work...
BTW are you sure you have 8 mm valves? 5/16" is VERY close (7.94 mm) and also very common.

Yes,I measured the stems,they are 8mm.

Try bergs, they have a few different sized lash caps.
Or any of the major Valvetrain companies may hae ones to suit 5/16" stems.

I would not use that cam.
If it were not cast iron it may be OK.(ie steel billet)
I like to clearance the rod in that area, and only minimal cam clearancing.
If more is needed then flats ground in timed positions would be the prefered way.

My CB lash caps fit snug but not tight. Berg lash caps fit so tight you need a puller to remove them.

If you take a close look at an original camshaft you will find a 45degree on the lobe edges. The factory wouldnt put it there if it didnt have a purpose. When your lifters and camshaft are flat those sharp edges will chew up your lifters in no time. Personally it seems to me that there is a little too much taken of that camshaft.

Same as i think , 16 mm is a little too small . don't  know but it can break with double springs

I clearanced my cam on a lathe to 20 mm dia. in critical places. I made a nice radius on the end of lathe trace and I polished those places with a grinder´s stone. I have the same 82mm crank as you Zvonimir and H-Beams on the way so I´ll let you know if it clears when I mock it up..

if you buy an Engle cam from Roger @ Heads Up, they come with radiused lobe edges. Good Point (no pun intended).

if i use stock or 1/1.25 ratio rockers with porsche swivel-feet adjusting screws must i have lash caps?
in an old gene berg catalog he said about his swivel feet: no need for lash caps when you use these.

With any kind of swivel or roller tip rocker,you don't need lashcaps.

Personally, I hate lash caps.
Yes, sometimes they are required, but if not then I say don't run them.
they are problematic. They break, fall off, don't sit flat. The quality is all over the place depending on who you buy from.
I'd just rather not use them. Most valve's are just as tough as the lashcap so you really arn't saving anything buy running them...

and they add weight

  Looks like the cam is too small to me too. You can get clearanced cams straight from engle. I think you might not even need a clearanced cam with the 82.

depends on journal and type of rod. I Built a few VW -journal 82mm lumps that had to have special smaller base circle and clearanced cams dropped in. Who would have thought?
