Title: Washington anti-shocker opinions Post by: Sam K on February 10, 2009, 01:35:38 am I've had an anti-shocker sitting around for a decade or so and I always seem to forget about it when I have the engine out of my bug. I'm planning on lowerimg my compression next month and I was thinking of giving it a shot. Does anybody here have any experience, good or bad with these things? It seems like a good idea in theory.
Title: Re: Washington anti-shocker opinions Post by: Jason Foster on February 10, 2009, 03:25:02 am I ran one for awhile but ended up taking it off. Lots of guys run lots of different types. The S/G car I crew chief still has one on it but I think there really is no proof of what setting works best or when boils down to personal preference I think it's not really needed but it can't hurt.
One thing I've seen happen though is without a side load adapter on it the seals will wear out and they can leak and end up not allowing the clutch to fully engage causing a slipping burned up clutch. Title: Re: Washington anti-shocker opinions Post by: bugkeeper on March 08, 2009, 10:42:32 am I made my own Washington Anti Shocker. I ordered a ACE Industry shock (MA225) and made a bracket. ::)

Title: Re: Washington anti-shocker opinions Post by: modnrod on May 18, 2018, 06:40:27 am If it takes a 1/2 second to release fully, then I guess from the upright position it takes a 1/2sec to go the other way too when you change gear, so it won't have time to fully engage.
I think? Maybe? LOL! Dunno, but if it works it's great. Title: Re: Washington anti-shocker opinions Post by: numbnuts on May 18, 2018, 12:08:08 pm need something to work in 1st only?
