Go on I'll bite  ::) for those of you who don't know what lurks down the bottom of my garden heres a pix of my 49 based looker .
It sports a home built 2165 with a few choice bits and bobs bolted up to a Porker 901 5 speed box , all tested and ticketed and wrapped up cozy for the winter .

Its far from finished still need to sort out the interior and this and that , but it don't stop me going out for a jolly every now and again  ;)

Only a 1600 with twin 40 DRLA's. It's quite torquey and has been super reliable for 5 years. It's needed nothing but services. But I do get left behind! ;D

I built it from a £600 wreck in 1994, used it until about 99/2000 as a daily driver, then totally stripped it and built it into what you sort of have today. I still have a ton of history for the car inc a full photo rebuild album aswell as all the trophies i won with it inc a nice `best of show` one from bug jam 2003. Its changed a bit since i sold it though after its crash and all that!! I should not have sold it really, i used to enjoy the odd spin in it with slicks and it had alot of sentimental value to me . i loved the interior in it,no headlining clips, red diamond stitch headliner (which i've done to my 65), old skool simpson harnesses!!!

2110, 48IDA's  pro comp gear box.  will be looking a bit different soon tho ;).
   Thats my old car!!

really? when did you have it?
I built it from a £600 wreck in 1994, used it until about 99/2000 as a daily driver, then totally stripped it and built it into what you sort of have today. I still have a ton of history for the car inc a full photo rebuild album aswell as all the trophies i won with it inc a nice `best of show` one from bug jam 2003. Its changed a bit since i sold it though after its crash and all that!! I should not have sold it really, i used to enjoy the odd spin in it with slicks and it had alot of sentimental value to me . Lyndon.

Is this the same car?

Lyndon did you sell the golds to john wallket
yep that the same car, i think it was him i sold them to. They now are on a blue 63 ragtop, people take the piss out of him by calling him Lyndon!!  That pic was taken at bug jam.

Yeh i know thats John lol a felllow Renn Wagens member

this is his, with your old wheels>>>>>>

I bought the 63 off Owen Warlow in 94 and ran it round as was for about 2 years with the idea of restoring it but I never got round to it and parked the car sold it to John in about 2002 and he converted it to RHD and gave it the resto it deserved.

the red 67 is indeed Gaz's old car but it isn't back with it's original owner (my brother) but with another guy from Congleton I think he is registered on the lounge.

If its of any help, Lyndon's car was the cover car of Volksworld Dec 2003 edition. Still have the mag coz i thought iit was such an awesome Car. Most impressive is that the write up said that Lyndon was just 29 when he built it and the garage was a 3 mile trek from his home - thats dedication!
Lyndon can i ask the trick piece of bling behind the ignition key was that a custom job of ur own?? - IIf so how? WANT ONE!

i ride everyday as well.its the only way i could afford to keep my car.if i had to run an everyday vehicle the bug would be no more.i think keeping the looker is def. more rewarding than a mundane everydayer! ;D

yep 2165 on 44idfs, fk10 etc . . . pb 14.14 but it'll go quicker when I get better at launching  :)
it was built in 2001 & back then 2165 was considered large enough for a street/strip bug... things have changed somewhat since  ;)
