The Berg stacks are most expensive but the best . They are a one piece stack and make the best flow . But the question is if you need them . This depends on your engine size and rpm's.

Hi Udo.
thanks for your reply . Ordered a set by Berg last year but they were out off stock.
Saw they would make them again now but 593$ .
Was looking for a alternative to theirs.
Engine is T4 2.7 -226hp /6800rpm.

Hi
when reading your datas of engine i would say you don't need others , only if you want to make it look better . I tried this on a 2,7 Type4 with 250 hp and found no big diffence to the original IDA stacks . Shawn Geers would be the next choice , he also has 2 different styles . I have the cheaper (welded) stacks in stock

The Berg stacks are very nice, but as you've learned, they are not cheap.

Here are a couple pics of my IDAs, modified by Costello Racing (http://www.costelloracing.net/). They are now ~51.5mm with Teflon coated Berg stacks and "all the tricks".

here are my stacks from berg. 48 ida but with berg "profiling" done to throttle shafts etc. not cheap, but BIG flow improvement.Good luck on deck lid choices, Ken taber in fallon had done alot of flow #'s on different stacks and carbs combinations. Will tell later of 48idf's that outflow ida's. Even 44 idf tricks that ouflow stock 48 idf's.He is had alot of help/testing form bergs and joel mohr. I will let him come up with the info when flow work completed. There may a new stack design out there soon.  bill
