Title: trim question
Post by: wolfswest on February 21, 2009, 19:01:02 pm
Hi guys,

Because my hood is a repro one and it doesn' t fit right I'm looking for a original vw one.  My car has sidetrim and I was thinking if I fit a new hood if it would look good that I cleaned the hood?  ???  So the sidetrim would stay on the car, and the hood would be cleaned to cal look standards.
A go or a no?  ???   Maybe pictures available of cars like this?  It's an early looker.
Less chrome is the way to go, right?  ;D

I will give it a go I guess, now I need to search a nice hood.  If anybody can help me out here in belgium, please let me know.

yes, Button's car is nice.

And on the current hood I installed a "volkswagen" decal  ::)  I know... I hate it also now but my first intention was to build a resto cal.  So I guess the new hood will give a clean look.

this will be a question for me too, as something (movable straw screen for in living rooms) dropped on my bonnet today, scraping quite some paint off of it.

pretty shitty situation to see something fall on your car (due to gravity) when your standing 5 meters from your car with lots of car parts in between  :-\

i didn't hit anything this time, just count to 10 and walk away, good advice  ;)

WTF, crap!

Eitherway I tracked down an original 67 bonnet and I will collect it this monday.  Then I'm of to the bodyshop.  Pictures soon to follow  ;)

Started yesterday together with Jelle lowfastbus and Tim Dr Jeckill with a dechroming job.  Always nice if you are into cal look.  ;D

Looks nice, car is almost done for this season.  Now I need to find a good painter to continue.

@ Tim:  if you look closely you can see the "johnny camino" with the fluo wheels.  Maybe you can change your mind about painting your gearbox...  ;)
